Advocate Challenge

Celebrating Reading

Challenge Requirements

Students, attending high school, will work collaboratively in promoting access to reading materials and literacy.  During Fall, the challenge will focus on implementing a reading/literacy activity in their communities, and in Spring 2018, we will shift the challenge to schools.  The winning group will receive a financial award of $800.

• Students will collaborate with no more than four (4) students total in a group.

• The group will complete the Challenge Proposal. Each student’s parents and/or guardians must sign the completed form.

• After filling out information on the proposal, students will implement “one” literacy activity in their community.

• Additionally, each group will make a 3-5 minute video of the literacy activity.

• The typed Challenge Proposal, link to your video, and submission form will be submitted to blackandlatinomenread@gmail.com.

Due Date: December 18, 2017 (Monday) and winners will be announced in January 2018.
